Monday, January 27thGRAMMY NIGHTWoah. The Grammys always surprise and awe us with spectacular performances and last night was no exception. We could wax poetic on the icons who graced the stage... including Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Metallica and Madonna. There were also 34 marriages. Like we said, woah. Pharrell, Daft Punk and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were big winners last night, as was newcomer Lorde. "Royals" took home Song of the Year and as Glenn Peoples (Billboard) noted, '"Royals" award is a big moment for the streaming and social era. Not a typical road to success.' Though clearly veterans, Daft Punk's Record of The Year also represents a change in the fabric of popular music. Electronic music rising to such mainstream prominence over the course of the last few years can't help but owe something to streaming and social discovery.Lastly, enjoy Yoko Ono's "Bad Dancer" as the perfect compliment to those Grammy dancing gifs we know you've been watching over and over again.
