Thoughts from the CEO:
The current conversation we're entering the New Year with, obviously, is the Sony Hack. I'm hearing varying opinions and standpoints, mainly people feeling angry and wondering if this is the beginning of a technological world war.
"The Interview" has been pulled, after theater chains and streaming sites refused to show the film. Yesterday, rumors started spreading on the web that Sony plans to release the controversial comedy via its streaming service Crackle.
I care less to watch a comedy about killing a foreign prime minister, and more about the learnings that will come out of this. Was caving to these anon hackers a mistake, as Obama seems to think? It's clear that we are dealing with a game changer in cyber world, and I believe this Sony hack will bear valuable fruit. This can be an opportunity for all of us, who care about freedom of expression, to rally and champion this right.
